Following a year of post-lockdown gloom and little business for the hospitality industry, hotels are expected to make a profit in 2022.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2022, which will be hosted in Gandhinagar in January, has already sold out of rooms and suites at hotels in Ahmedabad for the dates of January 10-12. Some hotels were already reserved a few days ahead of time.
“The general market is healthy, and we expect a nice showing at VGGS. Inquiries have begun to come in, and some rooms have already been set aside for the occasion “Taj Skyline general manager Aveek Sengupta stated.
Several five-star hotels in the city are totally sold out from January 9 to January 12, according to online booking platforms, because rooms have been reserved for VGGS delegates, embassies, trade organisations, and enterprises.
“We’ve started receiving inquiries from Japanese and Korean companies, and we’re hoping to finalise bookings in the coming weeks. The Vibrant Gujarat summit, as well as a number of other events later in the year, make the first quarter of 2022 look promising “Novotel Ahmedabad’s general manager, Jay Sudhakaran, stated.
At five-star hotels in Ahmedabad, the average daily rate (ADR) has surpassed Rs 4,000 per room per night. Hotel rates are projected to be high due to high demand and limited supply. According to business insider, rates have already surpassed Rs 15,000 per room per night and have climbed as high as Rs 30,000 per room per night between January 9 and 12. Hotels are anticipated to boost rates as the dates approach and room inventory decreases.
Following VGGS 2022, the Indian Foundry Congress and Defence Expo will be held in Gandhinagar.
VGGS 2022, according to hoteliers, will enhance traveller confidence. “The confidence of travellers will return when an investment summit of this magnitude takes place in Gandhinagar. The event will not only help hotels, but it will also make travellers feel more confidence about travelling afterward, which will benefit the hospitality industry immensely “General manager of Renaissance Ahmedabad, Neelabh Chug.
