Five people were killed and three others were injured when their van was hit by a tanker near Valana village in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district early Saturday, according to authorities. They claimed the accident happened at 5 a.m. on a road linking Vataman and Bhavnagar.
“In the vehicle, eight people were travelling to Khambhat in the Anand district. When the vehicle was hit by a tanker near Valana village, it was driving on the wrong side of the road. Four people died on the spot, while another died from injuries while being transported to a hospital in Khambhat. Three additional people were hurt as a result of the accident, according to a Koth police station officer.
According to him, the crash was so terrible that recovering the remains from the crushed van took hours.
Two women were among the dead, according to the official, who also stated that the three injured people are being treated at a hospital in Khambhat.
