AMC has asked private premises in Ahmedabad to ensure that people visiting them are fully vaccinated. Places like shopping malls, multiplex, and cinema halls, clubs, gyms, commercial complexes, party plots, hotels and restaurants, religious places, tourist places and large societies would be required to check visitors’ vaccination certificates.
These places must insist on checking visitors (above 18 years age) at the entrance, before allowing them inside the premises. These entities will also have to inform the AMC if the visitor has an overdue second dose or has not taken the first dose.
Meanwhile, Gujarat registered 29 new Covid-19 cases on Monday with Ahmedabad accounting for 15 of them. Currently, there are 235 active cases in Gujarat of which four are on ventilators and 231 are stable. Valsad recorded the second highest five cases in the state.
Vadodara registered four cases, Surat three while Jamnagar and Kheda accounted for one case each.
On Monday Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) gave vaccination to 37,758 people. Of them 4,650 took the first dose whereas 33,108 took the second dose.
So far more than 75.03 lakh doses have been administered in the city by AMC of which more than 47.06 lakh were first dose and 27.96 lakh second dose.
So far, 10,090 patients have died of Covid-19 in Gujarat. Meanwhile, 24 Covid patients recovered across the state on Monday. So far 8.16 lakh (8,16,654) patients have recovered from Covid, establishing Gujarat recovery rate at 98.75 per cent.
