The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) issued closure 24 hotels in the city because of non-renewal or late renewal of their Fire Safety Certificates (FSCs).
A statement from the civic body said that the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) had served closure notices to these hotels which means that they must intimate and vacate all guests from their hotel rooms within the next 24 hours.
While five hotels are in central zone, 14 are in North zone, 3 in West zone and 1 each in in East and South zones of the city.
Further, the AFES sealed seven restaurants including Pragati Restaurant and Petron Restaurant in Naroda, Sprenza Pizza in Thakkarbapanagar, Mayur Restaurant and Palate Restaurant in Naroda, Navjiban Restaurant in Thakkarbapanagar and Patel Restaurant in Lambha.
The fire department also sealed two tuition classes, both branches of Allen Career Institute, one located in in Satved Complex and the other in Navin Park Society, both in Navrangpura area of West Zone.
