Ahmedabad: An endowment of Rs five crore was received by Ganpat University from NRI couple Bhupesh Parikh and Kumud to establish a modern nursing school on the Ganpat University campus named after them.
The hi-tech institute will have smart classrooms and fully-equipped laboratories.
The Parikhs hail from Kadi in Mehsana district. They have settled in America for the past six decades. Bhupesh Parikh holds a master’s degree in structural engineering from the US. A skilled artisan, Parikh started working as structural engineer and builder in Glendale and has built many homes in the area. He has made several donations for various projects across the country. He has also donated huge sums for development in his native place Kadi to facilitate development at academic undertakings. Parikh has also dedicated a school named after his mother for physically challenged girls in his hometown.
His wife Kumud has devoted herself to education. She has conducted accounting classes in GCC. They have three daughters who have studied at an American University.Parikh considers education as a sole medium to bring about a difference in the lives of young Indians.
