Ahmedabad: Here is another reason for getting vaccinated for Covid-19. Hotels and restaurants in Ahmedabad are likely to deny entry to unvaccinated diners from today.
In a meeting on Thursday, The Hotels and Restaurants Association of Gujarat has advised restaurants and hotels to allow entry only to customers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
“We have taken this decision in public interest. It is not mandatory for restaurants or hotels to insist on vaccination, but they are well within their right to deny entry to customers who haven’t taken the vaccine yet,” said noted hotelier and the association’s president Narendra Somani.
The requirement of Covid-19 vaccination certificate while eating out is expected to encourage more people, especially youngsters, to go for vaccination in view of the upcoming Navratri and other festivals. It is also likely to help the restaurant and hotel industry which has borne the brunt of the pandemic.
