Builders and developers in Bopal and Ghuma areas were recently merged in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), are stuck as the files have not been transferred to AMC by AUDA.
Builders have to keep shuttling between the offices of the two civic bodies for clearance of their projects. The state government had given authority for clearing construction plans and granting BU permission in Bopal, Ghuma, Kathwada and other areas to AMC two months ago.
The files have still not reached the AMC office. Few days back when the AMC staff reached AUDA office to collect five files of Bopal the AUDA refused to hand them over.
Most of the pending files in Bopal are related to TP scheme number 1,2 and 3 Of these, 40 files are such in which the opinion of TPO has already been taken, betterment charges have been paid and only the approval is pending.
There were more than 250 plots in these villages which were to be included. But in October 2020, the state government in a notification added Bopal, Ghuma, Kathwada and Nana Chiloda. It also added more than 150 survey numbers of Khoraj, Khodiyar, Sanathal, Visalpur, Aslali, Geratpur, Bilasiya in AMC limits but AMC was not given authority to clear plans or grant BU permission.
