Jay Kanani, ARA FC’s goal-scoring star in the tournament,

ARA FC’s goal-scoring star in the tournament, came to the team’s rescue as his brace helped them hold hosts CVM Football Academy (CVM FA) to a thrilling 2-2 draw at CVM Youth Cup.

At the CVM FA ground, rejuvenated hosts served a shocker for the formidable ARA FC when Samir Khan gave them a lead in the 22nd minute.

CVM FA thwarted ARA FC’s attempt for most of the match, but their defence cracked in the 76th minute when Jay found the equaliser for the visitors.

The match came alive with both the teams refusing to give up and started looking to break the deadlock. CVM FA surged ahead in the 81st minute with Atif Khan’s strike but Jay saved the blushes for ARA FC with the 86th minute strike.
Incidentally, in their last match, Jay scored a brace while Siddharth Shukla added another as ARA FC beat Gandhinagar FC (GFC) 3-0.

Sumit Patidar, Samir Khan and Mohit Vasava helped CVM FA record their first win in the tournament with a 3-1 win over Baroda Football Academy (BFA) in their previous match.
Draw for BFA, GFC

The second match of the day too ended in a 2-2 draw with BFA and GFC sharing the honours.
