The Education Minister on Wednesday announced that they have decided to cancel the circular asking primary school teachers to work daily for 8 hours instead of 6 hours in the state.
After the oppose from teacher’s association over the circular, state Education Minister – Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said, “after discussing the issue in cabinet meeting, we have decided to cancel the circular of directorate of primary education. The primary school teachers will work accordingly as they are working and the new circular stands cancelled”.
The state education departement had suddenly woken up almost after 11 years of implementing RTE Act. It had cited a rule of RTE Act 2009, for increasing daily working hours of teacher by two hours. The notification dated August 26,which now stands cancelled said that, working hours of teacher has been increased from 35 hours to 45 hours a week.
However the teachers association had earlier alleged that, they have to face this because they didn’t attended the recent assessment survey. Several representative of various teachers association had made written representation to education minister and other authorities to withdrew the circular.
