The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has forewarned 329 buildings in its limits to renew their fire NOC in September. The move comes as the civic body cracks down on buildings without mandatory fire NOC after the Gujarat high court pulled it up for its lax attitude.
The AMC has come up with a list of the buildings that need to get their NOC renewed. Earlier, the buildings were required to get their NOC renewed on their own and the civic body did not bother sending an early reminder. But this is the first time that the AMC has announced the list of buildings whose NOC is soon to expire.
The buildings include commercial, residential, hospitals, hotels, among others. The list of buildings has been updated on the AMCs website.
The civic body’s fire and emergency services have also computerised the list of buildings that have been given a fire NOC. The automation now allows for a reminder to be sent to the respective buildings for renewal of fire NOC. The management of the respective buildings will be held accountable in case they fail to get the NOC renewed on time.
Some of the buildings that have their fire NOC renewal due includes Rajwadu Hotel, CIMS Hospital, Nirma University, Little Flower School (D-cabin) branch among others.
Earlier in June the Gujarat high court had pulled up the AMC for poor implementation of fire NOC and had asked it to discontinue services to such buildings. The high court had also asked for filing of accountability in cases where the buildings were allowed to get away without due fire NOC.
