AHMEDABAD: In the last few years, the practice of VRS i.e. voluntary retirement and quitting government jobs has increased among government employees, especially government doctors.
Because even after resigning from the government job, the doctors now want to get rid of the responsibility of the government job as they get more financial benefits in the greed of private practice of more than two lakh rupees in addition to a good pension, allowances. and other benefits.
Four medical professors-senior doctors, including the superintendent of the state’s largest government civil hospital and the dean of the largest government medical college, have resigned and the VRS proposals of several senior doctors-medical professors are still pending.
There is internal resentment and protest among medical teachers and doctors against the government and especially against top government officials. There are only a few years left in the government job, even then senior doctors are leaving the government job by taking VRS.
This is because senior government doctors, who are currently drawing a salary of Rs 2.5 lakh, get a hefty pension of Rs 1.5 lakh, PF graduation and other allowances after resignation. In addition, income tax is also reduced. Senior doctors have a huge choice of private practice with salaries of lakhs in private medical colleges and especially large private hospitals.
He also wants to get rid of the pressure, mental torture and excessive responsibility imposed by politicians and government officials in his job. So that senior doctors do not hesitate to leave their government jobs. Many doctors are still in the queue to quit government jobs because of the lure of private practice and many VRSs are likely to get more approvals.
