Schools have started after the second wave of Corona in the state. Mass promotion was given to regular students of standard 10 and 12 which has also resulted. Then once again a controversy has arisen over admission. Basic and standard mathematics have been kept separate in standard 10 by the education department. The students of Basic Mathematics cannot be given admission in Std. 11 Science but some schools have given admission and the Education Department has issued a circular to the District Education Officer and ordered to take action against the schools.
The Joint Secretary of Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has written a letter to all the District Education Officers on the issue of giving admission in 11 sciences to the students of Basic Mathematics. As per the rule, students of CBSE board were given exemption for the year 2020-21. The Joint Secretary of Gujarat Board asked to take action regarding admissions in schools CBSE board will not be able to give admission in standard 11 science to students coming after selecting basic mathematics.
