Ahmedabad: An engineering student use a popular social media platform for rape. A trainee air hostess was allegedly drugged and raped by a 22-year-old youth she met through Instagram, The accused, who is an engineering student, even filmed the heinous crime and later used the video clip to sexually assault the survivor several times. Following a police complaint by the woman, the accused, identified as Ajit Trivedi, was nabbed from his house in Ahmedabad’s vejalpur.The 22-year-old complainant, also a resident of Vejalpur area, told the police that she connected with Trivedi on Instagram around seven months ago. The two bonded as they chatted on the social media platform. Later, they exchanged their phone number and planned to meet.
