Over 36,000 seats remain vacant after the second round of online admission for degree and diploma engineering colleges. In all, 11,173 diploma students made it to the merit list. At the end of the second round, 36,587 seats remained vacant of which 1019 were in government or government-aided colleges while 35,568 were in self-financed institutes.
Application for admission to the 1019 vacant seats in government colleges can be made from September 2 onwards while the common merit list for the vacant seats will be declared on September 20 and counselling will begin from September 23 onwards.
As for self-financed institutes, the application form and merit list will be declared by September 10. Students will have to pay Rs300 for the admission form in self-financed colleges.
The admission committee also undertook the offline admission process for diploma and degree courses in pharmacy in six government colleges that together have 189 seats. The admission was also carried out for 68 self-financed institutes that have 1529 seats. In all, 277 students had applied, of which 275 were in the merit list. Of this, 214 were given admission.
