Just under 28% of the repeater students who had appeared for the class 12 general and vocational stream exams conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) have passed the exams, the board announced on Monday, with the numbers showing girls faring much better than boys.
A total of 1,30,388 students had registered to appear for the exams.
In a statement on its website, the board said that 31,785 of the 1,14,193 students who had appeared for the exams in July have been declared pass. The percentage of students who have successfully cleared the exams is 27.83%.
In the general stream, the pass percentage of boys is 24.31% compared with 35.45% for girls, highlights released by the board show.
Out of 78,275 boys who had appeared in the exams, 19,032 have been declared pass, while among girls, 12,564 out of 35,439 who had appeared have cleared the exams.
In the vocational stream, the pass percentage for boys is 42.16% and 50% in the case of girls.
The board said 113 differently-abled candidates, for whom the pass percentage was set at 20%, have also cleared the exams.
The board added that the students would be informed about the collection of mark sheets and certificates from their schools separately, and directions regarding rechecking of the answer sheets will be issued soon.
