Ahmedabad city recorded five new COVID cases in the last 24 hours. The city recorded the highest number of COVID cases across Gujarat for the period. The state in all recorded 17 new COVID cases and zero fatalities due to the disease. So far in August, the state has recorded less than 20 cases for over 10 days. In Ahmedabad, 5 people were discharged after being successfully treated for the disease while 14 were discharged across the state. Ahmedabad also saw 25,091 people being vaccinated in the last 24 hours.Vadodara municipal corporation recorded 3 new cases while Surat recorded 2. Four corporations and three districts accounted for all the 17 new cases while 4 other corporations and 30 districts did not record any new cases. Gujarat at present has 186 active cases of which 6 are on ventilator and 180 are stable. So far 8.15 lakh people have been successfully treated for the disease. The total fatality stands at 10,078. Only two COVID deaths have been recorded in the state in August so far.The total number of people who were vaccinated across the state in the last 24 hours stood at 2.75 lakh. The highest vaccination continued to happen in the 18 to 45 age group where 1.46 lakh people were vaccinated with the first dose in the last 24 hours. Over 35,000 people were vaccinated with the second dose in the same age group.
